Maintaining a barn is no an easy task. Many times, some of the other birds enter the barn. The primary among them being bats. It is not that conducive to have bats in your barn.

There are numerous ways to get rid of bats in a barn-like sealing the gap and cracks, using natural bat repellent, getting a bad night, installing a decoy bat house, eliminating food sources from the vicinity of the barn, and so on.

I will go into the details of all these tips below. Not only these, but I will also highlight other tips, which will make it easy to get rid of bats in a barn.

1. Seal the gaps and cracks:

Bats use the gaps as well as cracks in the barn to get in and out. The best way is to seal up the gaps and cracks. Once you do so, as you can forbid them from entering the barn. Since they will not find a way into the barn, you can get rid of them.

You can use a copper mesh to fill up the gaps in the cracks. You can use spray foam as well.

Both of them can handle any weather. You can cut them into the shape which you want as well.

2. Opt for a natural bat repeller:

That is why the more you spread the mothballs in the barn, the more likely it is to get rid of bats.

You need to understand that mothballs can be toxic. That is why; you have to keep them at places where they are not accessible by you and animals.

9. Use sounds to scare the bat away:

With the help of ultrasound producers, you will be able to scare away the bats as well. Bats often use ultrasound ways to find their way around. If you generate ultrasound in the vicinity of your barn, the bats will lose their way. Consequently, you can get rid of bats.

As I have highlighted above, essential oils are not liked by bats. The strong smell of essential oils can repel the bats easily.

The good news is that applying essential oils to the barn is undoubtedly easy.

Also, there are essential oil dispensers available as well. You can plug them into the socket, and they will disperse the essential oil throughout the day.

That way, you will not have to go for any makeshift solution.

You can use any essential oil like:

• Cinnamon
• Eucalyptus
• Peppermint
• Mint and so on

Thus, another way to get rid of bats in a barn is to use the essential oil dispenser.

12. Install a large mirror:

Another way to illuminate the barn throughout the day and probably the night is to use a large mirror.

The angle of the mirror should be such that it illuminates the barn with the help of the sunlight during the day. In that case, you will not have to worry about using any external lighting.

On the other hand, the position of the mirror should be such that after dusk, it should illuminate the barn using the outdoor light as well.

In that case, without using an additional light in the barn, you will be able to illuminate the barn.

Once the barn is illuminated, the bats will stay away. That is because the bats will not be able to find their way around.

Moreover, mirrors are quite inexpensive as well. That is why, to execute this technique, you will not have to shell out a lot of money.
